See how decimal storage units differ from binary units. Every label is explicit so a GB is never silently treated as a GiB.

Know the limits. All choices are byte units, not network bit rates. Fractional bytes are allowed for mathematical comparison.

How it works

Decimal units grow by 1,000 each step; binary units grow by 1,024. One GB therefore converts to approximately 953.67431641 MiB.

Result = input × bytes per source unit ÷ bytes per destination unit
1 GB = 1,000,000,000 B
1 GiB = 1,073,741,824 B

Converted data size: 953.67431641 MiB

Change the inputs to match your own situation. The result is an estimate or text transformation, not a substitute for reviewing your source data.

A few useful details

Are MB and MiB the same?

No. One MB is 1,000,000 bytes; one MiB is 1,048,576 bytes.

Does this estimate download time?

No. It converts storage size only; no transfer rate or protocol overhead is modeled.

Do I need an account?

No. This release runs without an account, API key or payment. Saving a favorite stores only the tool’s identifier in this browser, not your inputs.
