Know the limits. Percentage ratios cannot use a zero reference. Percentage change here requires a positive starting value to avoid ambiguous negative-baseline interpretations.

How it works

For “A% of B,” 20 and 100 produce 20. For change from A to B, 80 and 100 produce a 25% increase.

Percent of: A ÷ 100 × B
Percentage ratio: A ÷ B × 100
Change: (B − A) ÷ A × 100

The starter inputs above produce:

20% of 100: 20

A few useful details

Which field is the starting value?

In change mode, A is the old value and B is the new value.

Can the result be negative?

Yes. A drop from a positive starting value yields a negative percentage change.

Do I need an account?

No. This release runs without an account, API key or payment. Saving a favorite stores only the tool’s identifier in this browser, not your inputs.
