Know the limits. Not a full-URL parser. Do not encode an entire URL unless you deliberately need it as a nested value. Plus signs are not converted to spaces in decode mode.

How it works

A space becomes %20 when encoded. The tool decodes one layer of percent encoding and rejects malformed escape sequences.

Encode: encodeURIComponent(text)
Decode: decodeURIComponent(text)

Try the example

The starter inputs above produce:

hello%20world%20%26%20tools%3Dfree

Change the inputs to match your own situation. The result is an estimate or text transformation, not a substitute for reviewing your source data.

A few useful details

Why does a plus sign stay a plus sign?

This is URI component decoding, not form decoding. In form-encoded data, handling plus-as-space requires a separate step.

Will it visit the address I paste?

No. It transforms text only and does not fetch or navigate to the supplied value.

Do I need an account?

No. This release runs without an account, API key or payment. Saving a favorite stores only the tool’s identifier in this browser, not your inputs.
